This beautiful sculpture of President Franklin Roosevelt with Fala was sculptured by Neil Estern. Fala is the only dog honored with a statue at a Presidential Memorial. Fala was a famous Scottish Terrier, beloved dog of President Roosevelt. Fala was given to Roosevelt by a cousin. He knew how to perform tricks, and his antics were widely covered by the media. Fala survived FDR by seven years and was buried alongside him. The statue of him alongside Roosevelt is prominently featured in Washington, D.C.'s FDR Memorial. |
